Overview

Buildlight Labs Pty Ltd ("we") operates EngLedger. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information We Collect

Account information: Name, work email address, and organisation details provided at registration.

Integration data: Engineering activity data retrieved from connected tools, including Jira ticket metadata and worklogs, GitHub and Bitbucket commit messages, author information, and repository names. We do not ingest source code.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns within the application, used to improve the Service.

Billing data: Payment is handled by Stripe. We store only your subscription status and plan details. We do not store card numbers or full payment details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to provide and improve EngLedger, including classifying engineering work, generating capitalisation reports, and supporting your organisation's financial reporting. We do not use your data to train AI models or sell it to third parties.

Third-Party Integrations

When you connect an integration, you authorise EngLedger to retrieve data on your behalf from that provider (Atlassian, GitHub, Bitbucket). Data retrieved is stored in our systems to provide the Service. Each provider's own privacy policy applies to data held within their platforms.

Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on servers hosted in Australia. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorised Buildlight Labs personnel. We conduct regular security reviews.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for re-activation, after which it is deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time.

Your Rights

Cookies

The EngLedger application uses a session cookie necessary for authentication. Our public website also uses first-party analytics cookies, Google Analytics (GA4), to measure aggregate traffic and improve the site. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you by email or in-app notice before material changes take effect.
